We encourage our customers to engage in learning about the technical details of their systems. There is wealth of information available for free - below are some of our recommended resources.

The American Boat and Yacht Council creates the standards for safety and reliability on the water worldwide. We are certified ABYC Technicians, and believe in the work that ABYC does. See their YouTube videos here.

The National Marine Electronics Association created and maintains the standards (NMEA 0183, NMEA 2000, and OneNet) for marine electronics data interfacing, and also provide marine electronics installer training.

Boat How To provides an excellent free wire size calculator and also offers very easy to follow, self-directed courses on Marine Electrical and Marine Diesel Engines. Nigel Calder quite literally ‘wrote the book’ on how to fix just about everything on your boat and has partnered with Jan Athenstadt to make his extensive knowledge more readily available via videos and online learning.

Marine How To provides an incredible wealth of well-researched and well-written articles from Rod Collins. The information is all provided free, but is absolutely worth a donation.

Panbo is both a newsletter and a forum about all things marine electrical. Ben Stein does excellent, thorough product technical reviews and teardowns.

Explorist Life has a large number of extremely well produced tutorial videos showing the nuts and bolts of systems installs.

The On-Deck Channel showcases many of the projects done by The Yacht Rigger - a marine rigging and electronics provider in Florida that sells a wide range of components and does excellent, high-quality installs.

Ocean Planet Energy designs and sells marine energy systems, under the direction of Bruce Schwab and his business partner Nigel Calder. Ocean Planet offers a very useful Energy Calculator spreadsheet for those trying to determine how much battery capacity they need.

Victron Energy is a leading provider of mobile, marine and off-grid inverters, chargers and solar controllers. Their systems offer exceptional reliability as well as infinitely configurable control systems with excellent remote monitoring capabilities.
